He also volunteered with Project Jumpstart, a program that allows students to serve the homeless community of Baltimore City by providing food, clothing, toiletries, and information on area services. Ibrahim also mentored high school students through the Student Committee on Drug Abuse Education (SCODAE), a voluntary organization that educates audiences of middle and high school students, parents, and education professionals throughout Maryland about drug and alcohol abuse.

Thank you for those who were able to join us at Ruth's Chris in Baltimore last night, 4/18/12, for a presentation by Dr. Matthew Mintz entitled, "Asthma Awareness."

Asthma ranks among the most common chronic conditions in the United States. Despite having medications and other treatments that can keep most asthmatics under control, the American Lung Association estimated that in 2006, over 400,000 hospitalizations and 1.7 million emergency room visits were attributed to asthma.

Dr. Mintz gave us an informative presentation regarding the need for asthmatics to understand control and what we can do in collaborative practice to reduce uncontrolled asthma episodes. Thank you, Dr. Mintz, for your engaging presentation!

Special thanks to GlaxoSmithKline for sponsoring this event!
